Castle Rock Pinot Noir 2005

This is a wonderful value for Pinot Noir lovers. The wine is grown in Mendocino County, California, in a climate similar to Burgundy, France. It is medium bodied with a beautiful ruby red color and tinged with violet.. Scents of violet and rose petals greet you on the nose along with aromas of ripe red berries. On the palate, there are flavors of raspberry and strawberry which go down like silk. This wine is great on its own, or with food. Pair it with chicken marsala, dishes containing mushrooms, slow cooked meats such as pot roast, brisket,or lamb stew . It can work well with roast chicken or turkey. I'd drink this one with just about anything!
